Charles Saxby, 90, of Freeport, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Charles was born on February 12, 1922 in Angus, Wisconsin, the son of Charles and Rachell (Bleymeyer) Saxby Sr. . Charles was a cook for Saxby Grill, Cougar Inn, and The Circle Tap. He was a World War II Army Signal Corp. Veteran. Charles was a former member of the V.F.W. and Eagles Club. Charles is survived by two sons David C. (Nancy) Saxby of Shannon, Il and Michael R. (Donna) Saxby of Freeport, IL; five grandchildren Tamara (Raymond) Salazar, Tracy (Chuck) Nugent, Amanda (Wes) Ludwig, Angela (Rob) Peterson, and Alyssa (William) Beidler; and eleven great-grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and five sisters. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Private family burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the V.A. Hospital in his Mr. Saxby'™s memory.
