Charles Franklin Ohlwine, 92, of Freeport, passed away, Wednesday June 15, 2022, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Charles was born October 9, 1929, in Polo, Illinois, the son of Charles and Pearl G. (Smith) Ohlwine. Mr. Ohlwine married Juneal Soliday August 2, 1953, in Cedarville, Illinois. Charles farmed for many years, in both Stephenson and Ogle County. He was a former member of Berean Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Charles was a well-known Farmall enthusiast and was a big fan of the Highland Cougars. Surviving is his wife, Juneal Ohlwine of Freeport; son, Jeff Ohlwine of Freeport; daughter, Jennifer (Larry) Alt of Lena; grandson, Christopher (Jamie) Kubatzke; and two great-grandchildren, Joy E. and Isaac J. Kubatzke. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sister. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 21, 2022, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Wilson will officiate. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
