Charles "Chuck" Henry Love, 76, of Freeport, died Thursday February 27, 2020 at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Chuck was born May 29, 1943 in Freeport, the son of Charles E. and Alberna (Latour) Love. Chuck worked for the Stephenson County Sheriff's Department for 18 years. Charles also worked for Freeport School District as a bus driver. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966-1967 in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his family, but his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were particularly special to him. Chuck enjoyed horseshoes, fishing, and going for motorcycle rides. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Orangeville Broncos. Surviving are his son, Michael (Deonna) Love of Freeport; two daughters, Michele (Terry) Reatz of Orangeville and Melissa Wendling of Freeport; brother, Terry (Martha) Love Freeport; nine grandchildren, Chris Cather, Justin Love, Blake Love, Kayla Ennis, Jacob Raetz, Brandon Raetz, Ashley Wendling, Stacy Wendling, and Brooke Wendling; also surviving are six great-grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday March 5, 2020 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Gearing will officiate.
