Charlene J. Suess

Charlene J. Suess, 90, of Freeport, died Saturday March 28, 2020 at Presence Saint Joseph Center. Charlene was born June 3, 1929 in Stoughton, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Gertrude (Hanson) Schumacher. Charlene married Loren Suess March 21, 1959 at Faith Church in Freeport. Mr. Suess passed away February 2, 1999. Charlene was a member of Zion Church of Christ, Freeport. She worked at both Osco Drug and JC Penney. Charlene always valued her time with her family. Surviving are her brother, Gary Schumacher of Black Forest, CO.; several nieces and nephews including special niece, Carla (Marv) Frederick of Mt. Carroll. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Ralph Schumacher; sisters, Marian Armstrong, Gladys Bruger, Gloria Meier, Patricia Nevenhoven and Grace Rote. Private family services will be held Wednesday April 1, 2020 in the Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Rev. Nevin Heiman will officiate. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Presence St. Joseph Center or Carla Frederick (8871 Beede Road Mt. Carroll IL, 61053) in Charlene's memory.
