Charlene E. Stuart

Charlene E. Stuart, 96, formerly of Freeport, died, Sunday November 25, 2012 at Morningside Health Center in Sheboygan, WI. Charlene was born on February 10, 1916 in Clinton, IL. the daughter of Walter and Evelyn (Connor) Lane. On September 10, 1938 Charlene married Robert L. Stuart in Freeport. Mr. Stuart passed away on February 5, 2000. Charlene was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elk'™s Lodge 617, Freeport Eagles Club, Freeport Garden Club and Freeport Country Club. She enjoyed music, plays, sports and playing golf. She worked at Northwestern Illinois Phone Company and Crum & Forster Insurance Company. Surviving are sisters, Betty Ann Woollen and Patricia Joan Ayers; grandsons, Scott (Melissa) Cary and Keith Cary, of Colorado; great-grandson; Jacob Cary. Preceded in death by parents, husband, daughter, Nancy Becker; and six brothers. Memorial services will be Thursday 10 a.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at Burke Tubbs. Memorials in Charlene'™s memory can be made out to First United Methodist Church.
