Chad L. Ford, 38, of Freeport, died Friday July 13, 2012 at Freeport Memorial Hospital as a result of complications from Muscular Dystrophy. He was born on June 19, 1974 in Freeport, IL, the son of Barbara (Neuschwander) Boomgarden and Dorwood Ford. Chad was a 1992 graduate of Freeport High school and went on to graduate from Highland-Columbia University. Survivors include his mother Barb Boomgarden, brother Robert Ford and step sister Katie Boomgarden of Freeport and father Dorwood Ford, half brother Craig Ford and half sisters Terry Fletcher and Lisa Moreno of Texas. Chad was preceded in death by his daughter Caila Ford and his service dog Charger from 'Paws for a Cause' . Chad worked at Wal-mart while attending Highland and later went on to a career at Malcolm Eaton as a job developer. He was an avid music lover and frequented many concerts and additionally co-owned his own DJ service. Chad was loved by many and was know for living life to the fullest and not letting his disability prohibit him in any way. A visitation will be held from 4-7 Tuesday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
