Catherine Marie Marcum

Catherine Marie Marcum, 88, of Rockford formerly of Freeport passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Anam Care in Rockford, IL.

Catherine was born on August 15, 1934 in Houma, LA the daughter of Louis and Viola (Boudloche) Bonvillain. She married Chester A. "Check" Marcum Jr. on October 16, 1954 at Holy Cross in Stockton. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2021. Catherine worked at Freeport Manor Nursing Home as a nurse's aid and then went to work at Honeywell as a QA Inspector for 30 plus years. She enjoyed knitting, collecting antique dishes and tending to her flower beds. Catherine knew how to make the holidays special and cherished spending time with her family.

Catherine is survived by her three children, Deborah (Scot) Price of Belvidere, Chester (Kathy) Marcum III of Merrill, WI, Thomas (Kelly) Marcum of Rock Falls; seven grandchildren, Sarah Price, Christopher (Mallory) Marcum, Stacey Marcum, Collin Marcum, Emily (Nick) Conklen, Megan Marcum and Matthew Marcum.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Paul Bonvillain.

Memorial Visitation will be from 9:30am-10:30am on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:00am on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of Peace with Chaplain Sean Huguenin, officiating. Burial of Cremated Remains will follow the services.

In lieu of flowers memorials donations may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
