Carolyn L. Delzell

Carolyn L. Delzell, 82, of Freeport, died Thursday April 5, 2018 at Pearl Pavilion. She was born March 3, 1936 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Lindsey) Bittner. Carolyn worked at Met-Life and was also a seamstress. She was a member of Zion Church in Freeport. She raised and showed horses and Doberman dogs. She enjoyed quilting. Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Julie (Ken) Hocraffer of Freeport, IL, and Jilane (Dave) Wubbena of LeClaire, IA; sister, Sylvia (Eddie) Cotten of Eldon, MO; brother-in-law George Visel of Pearl City, IL; two grandchildren, Brandon Hocraffer, and Tyler (Alex) Hocraffer; and great-grandson, Clark Hocraffer. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jolene; and sister, Marilyn Visel. A visitation/luncheon will be held from noon-2:00 p.m. Saturday April 14, 2018 at Zion Church in Freeport. Private family services will be held. Burial of cremains will be in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory.
