Carol M. Heck, 85, of Rockford, died Monday August 4, 2014 in her home. She was born December 31, 1928 in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of Mander and Armella (Stolz) Nack. She married Leo "Eddie" Heck October 25, 1947 in Freeport, IL; he died October 27, 1998. Carol had a kind and supportive nature. She worked for Montgomery Ward, Ringer Jewelers, and owned and operated City Hall Bar and Grill with her husband. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Rockford; and a former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Freeport, IL. She loved to follow the game of baseball, and played on The Lady Eagles team. Carol is survived by her son Lawrence (Patricia) Heck of Rockford, IL; her daughter Sandy Heck of Rockford, Il; her son-in-law Terry (Bonnie) Sueltman of Austin, TX; her brother Tom (Judy) Nack of Denton, TX; three grandchildren Brittany (John) Frisella of Rockford, IL, Brandon Heck of Madison, WI., and Benjamin Heck of Chicago, IL; two great-grandchildren Sofia Frisella and Johnny Rocco Frisella; and her dog and loyal companion ShyAnn. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter Pamela Sueltman; and her brother Tim Nack. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday August 14, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport, with Father Ken Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs, with a rosary service beginning at 6:00 P.M; there will also be a visitation Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church . Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Freeport Pretzels Baseball.
