Carlisle James Ganz

October 30, 1942 — March 2, 2022

Carlisle James Ganz, known to everyone as "CJ", 79, passed away, Wednesday, March 2, 2022. He was born October 30, 1942 in Rockford, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his father, Carlisle H. Ganz, mother, Anne D. Ganz, and his sister, Carlotta Ganz. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Stephen Ganz; his siblings: Dennis Ganz, James Ganz, Paul Ganz, Charles Ganz, and Dawn Ganz; and a host of other family members and in-laws. CJ was raised in Ridott, Illinois, and graduated from Freeport High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from November 1, 1960 until October 30, 1964. He served 11 months and 28 days overseas, between Vietnam and Laos. Upon exiting the Marine Corps, he then became a salesman. I was told by his brother, James, "he could sell a bucket of sand to a man in the desert". He later started his own business, CJ's Skyviewz Photos. He was a great family historian. He kept every picture and birthday card he ever received. As his only child, I never heard him say a bad thing about anyone in the family. He praised us all, and was so proud of all of us. He will be laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery in Freeport, Illinois, on March 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Cemetery Details Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum 2619 W Pearl City Rd Freeport, IL 61032 Loading map Previous Events Graveside services MAR 29. 11:00 AM (CT) Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum 2619 W Pearl City Rd Freeport, IL 61032 Loading map
