Carl E. Robinson

Carl E. Robinson, a beloved member of the Lake Summerset community, former resident of Wauconda, IL (1963-2004), passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on October 28, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, Carl’s life was a tapestry of love, service and laughter that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Carl attended Kelvyn Park High School, graduating in 1948. Carl is a Korean War Veteran with the United States Army where he served from 1952 to 1954. It was during this time he married the love of his life, Margaret, in Redbank, NJ. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship until Margaret’s passing. Their marriage gave birth to Pamella (Tom) Foster, Matthew (Mary Jo) Robinson, Beverly Robinson, and Julie Robinson. He has 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Carl loved to be active and participated in sports till his death. Carl could be found playing golf, bowling, pickleball or softball; and if he was not playing sports, he was watching sports. He was a true Chicago sports fan. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Poppie and Friend. He was loved by so many and will be missed.

Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Robinson, daughter, Beverly Robinson, his parents, Kenneth and Grace Robinson, and his siblings, Mildred, Myrtle, Kenneth George, and Cheryl.

A Celebration of Live Service will be held on June 7th, 2025 from Noon to 4pm at  Lake Summerset Lodge 1529 Pier Drive Davis, IL.  A Military tribute will be begin at 2:00 PM.  Refreshments, water and soft drinks will be provided.  Feel free to bring your own personal beverage of choice as we raise a glass to the memories we cherish.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Rockford Rescue Mission (PO Box 7489.
