Carl F. Curtis 86, of Shannon, died Wednesday September 14, 2016 at Manor Court of Freeport. Carl was born October 21, 1929 in Bellflower, Illinois, the son of Arthur J. and Margaret (Pruemer) Curtis. Carl owned and operated a Harvestore Dealership in Effingham, Illinois and a John Deere Dealership in Lanark, IL. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and playing cards. Family was always most important to him. He is survived by his son, Mark (Cindy) Curtis of Freeport; daughter, Teresa Curtis of Madison, WI.; step-daughters, Mary Ann Holland of Effingham and Michelle (Chuck) Arnold of Watson, IL; sister, Evelyn Cummings of Chatham, IL., and sister-in-law, Barbara Curtis of Austin, TX. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and son, Steven Curtis. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday September 17, 2016 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be Friday 4:00-7:00 at Burke Tubbs. Also from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service Saturday.
