Brigitte 'Gitta" Keep

Brigitte "Gitta" Keep, 77, of Freeport, died Thursday June 25, 2020 in her home surrounded by family. Brigitte was born March 21, 1943 in Bamberg, Germany, the daughter of Vincent and Josephine (Leibold) Dolnichek. She was loved by all who had the chance to meet her in her life's journey. She filled every space she occupied with love and spirit. She could bring a smile and lighten a heavy heart to all those whose lives she touched. She was a strong, compassionate, empathic and generous woman. She always gave so much and ask for nothing in return. For all those whose lives she touched, she will forever remain with them in spirit. A gentle and kind soul who will forever remain in our hearts. Surviving are two sons, Gregory Allen Keep and David Dwayne Keep; two daughters, Tammy Ann (Brian) Steele and Karen Keep-Swanson; sister, Katharina Groezinger; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Brigette was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Frederick Keep and Lawrence Janicke; and in-laws, Jenny and Paul Keep. Services will be held at a later date.
