Brian J. Neels

Brian J. Neels, 58, of Freeport, died Sunday, February 21, 2021 in his home. Brian was born July 3, 1962 in Freeport, the son of Ted and Norma Jean (Oswalt) Neels. Brian married Tracey Thompson October 4, 1980 in Freeport. He worked at Bocker Auto Group as service manager and in the parts department. Brian highly respected the military and was proud of his six years of service in the Illinois National Guard, leaving the National Guard as a Sergeant. He enjoyed following the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, attending any races at the Freeport Raceway where he was also a driver, and hunting with his sons. Above all else Brian enjoyed spending time with his family, they were always #1 in his life. Surviving is his wife, Tracey Neels of Freeport, daughter, Amber (Kyle) Williams of Freeport; twin sons, Kyle (Carrie) Neels and Kody (Cindy Castle) Neels both of Freeport; two brothers, Robin (Cindy) Neels of Texas and Teddy (Pam) Neels of Freeport, IL; step-mother, Sherry Neels of Quad Cities; and six grandchildren. Brian was preceded in death his parents, and two brothers, Wilbur, and Allen Kraus. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 27, 2021 at Route 20 Bar & Grill.
