Billy E. Engel

Billy E. Engel, 80, of Freeport, died Sunday June 5, 2016 in his home. Billy was born October 27 1935 in Butternut, Wisconsin, the son of William and Mildred (Bushey) Engel. He married Sonja Engebretson on April 5, 1958. Mrs. Engel died October 6, 2012. Billy worked at Honeywell as a machinist. He was a member of Church of the Brethren. Billy enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and family outings. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. Surviving are four sons, Corey (Jamie) Engel, Chris (Jean) Engel, Craig (Chris) Dale, and Chad (Teresa) Engel; two brothers, George Engel of Texas and Rudy (Lynn) Engel of Park Falls, WI. three sisters, Mary Jane Lobermeier of WI., Joy Karpela and Robin Wegner. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Nancy and Darlene; two daughters, Pammy and Tammy; and one son, Curtis. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 9, 2016 at the Church of the Brethren. Pastor Christina Singh will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. A memorial has been established in Mr. Engel's memory.
