Beverly Ann Sorn, 84, of Janesville, WI, passed away Monday January 20, 2025 at Our House Senior Living Center surrounded by her children. She was born December 2, 1940 in South Wayne, WI, the daughter of Lawrence and Blanche (Vickers) Martin.
Beverly worked as a bartender, a seamstress for Berg Industries and also was a driver for Septran. Her warm smile and great sense of humor made her a joy behind the bar. She had a knack for remembering your drink whether you came in often or she hadn’t seen you in months. During her time at Berg Industries, she would repair awnings and event tents. Often pointing out which ones she had fixed around town. She would even take her granddaughters to “take your child to work day” to share her craft. Bev loved and deeply cared for the kids she drove for at Septran. She took pride in making the kids laugh and providing them with a safe and welcoming environment to get to and from school. Bev’s greatest joys in life were spending time with her grandbabies, sewing for loved ones and making dogs look their best. She would often have grandkids over for a weekend, always making sure to have their favorite food. Bev would spend hours making loved ones beautiful dresses, quilts and much much more. She started grooming her own dogs and people quickly realized she was talented at that too. She always made sure your fur baby smelled great and looked great. She even accessorized them with a cute bow or bandana.
She enjoyed making everyone laugh and being the life of the party. Beverly loved with her whole heart, was a loyal friend, strong willed, compassionate, welcoming, and had a fantastic sense of humor.
Beverly is survived by her son, Ronny “Ron” Hexom; daughters, Catherine “Cathy” (Roy Schmidt) North and Patricia “Pat” Hexom; brother David (Carol) Martin; sister, Mary Lynn Martin; Sisters in Law Dorothy Martin and Gloria Martin; grandchildren Michelle Schneider, Aimee (Jeremy) Dyson, Nick Schoenhard, Kelly (David) Johnson, Tricia, Elizabeth and Katie Johnson, Emily (Carlos) Miranda, Austin (Angela) North; 20 great grandchildren and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
