Betty Mae Spyrison

Betty Mae (Harcourt) Spyrison, 85, formerly of Villa Park, Illinois passed away January 27th, 2011 in Freeport, Illinois, She was born January 21, 1926 in Rushville, Indiana to Russell and Flo Hayes Harcourt. Betty graduated from Milroy High School in 1944 and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University majoring in bacteriology and chemistry in 1948. She was a laboratory technician at General Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana before marrying Harry Spyrison, attorney and business man January 22, 1950. She became a radiology technician in Illinois, and later earned a realtor'™s license. She was a member of DAR, and enjoyed quilting, penning poetry, painting, dogs and farm animals, gardening and other outdoor activities. Betty is survived by 4 sons and nine grandchildren. Dr. Stephen (Vicki) Spyrison of Freeport, Illinois, with Sarah Jane, Benjamin, Tyler, grandchildren. Dr. Douglas ( Terry) Spyrison of Dubuque, Iowa with Alan, Nicholas and Claire, grandchildren. Philip (Gloria) Spyrison, of Tomah, Wisconsin. Mark (Lisa) Spyrison of Aurora, Illinois, with Sam, Anna, and Jacob grandchildren. Betty also had one brother Russell (Betsy) Harcourt Jr., both deceased, of Milroy, Indiana, and two sisters Marilyn ( Morris) Woods of Brownsburg, Indiana and Maurita (Dr. Robert D, deceased) Ball of Richmond, Indiana. There are several nieces and nephews. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date at Moscow, Indiana. Memorial funds can be made to the Alzheimer'™s Association &/or Hospice in her name.
