Betty Louise Shaw

Betty Louise Shaw, 86, of Freeport, died Saturday August 19, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Betty was born January 24, 1931 in Lena, the daughter of Phillip and Alice (Becke) Mallory. Betty married Joseph R. Shaw October 28, 1950 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. Shaw died July 11, 2009. Betty was a 40 employee at Crum & Forster before retiring on February 1, 1987. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Betty cherished the times she spent with all of her family members. Surviving are her uncle, Robert (Betty) Becke of Freeport; niece, Linda Miller of Freeport; two nephews, Phillip (Leah) Fransen of Freeport and Fred (Chris) Fransen of Dakota; also surviving are many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Norma Fransen. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Thursday August 24, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Fr. Bob Camacho will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday August 23, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation Thursday 9:30 am until the time of service at St. Mary's.
