Betty Schlosser, 79, died Sunday at Freeport Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born June 4, 1933 to Charles and Lucille Baker in Chicago, lL. She married Gene Schlosser in Oak Lawn Sept. 15, 1951. They moved to Freeport in December 1967, where she lived the rest of her life. She was a homemaker and ran the business office at Highview Mobile Estates for 20 years. She later worked at Thermos, Swiss Colony, Golden Corral and was an in- home care-giver for several years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freeport and served on the Fideles Circle and Altar Guild. She took great pride in her family and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: two sons, Terry (Debbie) Schlosser of Davis, Rob (Pam) Schlosser of Freeport; three daughters, Jeanne (Bill) Engle of Richmond, Ind., Christy (Greg) Nausner of Freeport, and Jody (Jeff) Picha of Freeport; one sister, Ruth Main of Bartlesville, Ok.; 12 grandchildren, Jason Snap, Kurt and Stephanie Schlosser, Sarah (Bob) Moore, Ryan (Rebecca) Morgan, Natalie and Olivia Engle, Josh and Jenna Picha, Briannah, Megan and Mallory Nausner, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She leaves her special kitty, Suzy. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1991, her parents and one sister, Pearl Gibbs. Funeral service for Mrs. Schlosser will be Thursday, 11:00 A.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Rev. Ros Schultz and Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport. A memorial has been established in her name.
