Beth Y. Barton, 69, of Freeport, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. She was born April 16, 1955, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Alwin and Helen Reimnitz. She was married to her husband of 47 years, David Barton, in Bismarck, North Dakota on August 5, 1977.
Beth taught Language Arts at Immanuel Lutheran School for over 20 years, was a long-time active member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and supported Lifeline Coalition (formerly Freeport Pregnancy Center) serving for many years on its Board of Directors. She was an active member at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Freeport. Her involvement included Sunday School, Bible Study, Choir, occasional organist/pianist, church band, and she also most recently served as Church Secretary. She previously served as an interpreter for the deaf, interpreting worship services at Our Redeemer Lutheran and St. John's Lutheran in Lena, as the opportunity arose.
Beth was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, among many other wonderful things. She started her mornings, together with her husband, with her Bible and coffee on the porch, enjoying their time together in God’s Word. She deeply loved her children and loved/treasured their spouses as her own children. Her grandchildren were her world, and she strived to spend every minute she could with them. Her love for the people in her life will always be felt and she will be deeply missed.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Alwin and Helen Reimnitz, her Mother and Father In-Law, Floyd and Catherine Barton, a brother, Philip Reimnitz, and a brother-in-law, Jerry (Ruth) Walsh.
She is survived by her husband, David Barton, four children and thirteen grandchildren. Her children include Scott and Nikki Barton of Highlands Ranch, Colorado (Adison, MaKenna, Jacob, Braylee, and Landon), Charlie and Kimberly Barton of Onalaska, Wisconsin (Anthony, Juliet, and Amelia), Ali and Rob Lyvers of Lena, Illinois (Vera and Lola), and Jackie and Nathan Foltz of Monroe, Wisconsin (Bennett, Everly, and Myla).
