Bernice Mae Schock, 83, of Freeport, died Monday February 15, 2016 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Bernice was born on February 23, 1932 in Eureka, South Dakota the daughter of Robert and Lydia (Schutz) Kurle. Bernice married Allen Schock on April 5, 1953 in Eureka, South Dakota. Mr. Schock passed away on September 14, 2000. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Freeport and the Women of Moose in Savanna. Bernice worked at Eaton Controls, Hanover. Bernice is survived by her three sons, Wayne (Cindy) Schock of West Salem, WI, Curtis (Debra) Schock of McAlester, OK, and Danny (Pam) Schock of Savanna; daughter, Becky (Rodney) Holz of Freeport; brother, Royal (Nancy) Kurle of LaMoure, N.D.; two sisters in law, Violet Iszler of Eureka, S.D. and Bernice Schock of Herreid, S.D.; three sisters, Norma Knoepfle of Ellendale, N.D., Luella Pleinis of Eureka, S.D., and Betty (Kenneth) Mueller of Rapid City, S.D.; Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Lucelle Ketterling and great-grandson, Jacob Rich. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 18, 2016 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Freeport. Pastor Mark Luepke will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory.
