Bernard "Bernie" W. Toman, 82, of Freeport, passed away Tuesday January 5, 2021 at Monroe Clinic Hospice Home. Bernie was born May 29, 1938 in Richland Center, Wisconsin, the son of Ruford and Wilma (Wilson) Toman. Bernie married Dolores Holverson on May 5, 1983 in Lena. Dolores passed away June 9, 2020. Bernie worked different manufacturing jobs, and shoed and broke horses on the side. He also worked in construction at times, and ended his working career as a welder and a school bus driver. He was definitely a jack of all trades. He could fix anything in the house, on a car, on a truck, or any kind of a machine. Bernie was an avid horse lover, horse shoer/Blacksmith/farrier, and rodeo fan. He also loved to ride his Goldwing and go camping all over the Midwest. He was a Green Bay Packer's fan as well as a NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. He spent countless hours working outside on the farm, working with horses, and just liked to be outside doing something. He also loved to spend countless hours watching old western cowboy movies and reading western magazines. You could always catch him in a pair of blue jeans, cowboy boots, cowboy hat or baseball cap, t-shirt or flannel shirt. He was a simple, no non-sense, fun man to be around. Surviving are his children, Dwight Henson of Freeport, Illinois, Denea (Stephan) Taylor of Freeport, Illinois, Dulari Toman of Freeport, Illinois, Deleana (Terry) Atz of Freeport Illinois, Tonda Stouffe of Jacksonville, Illinois, Kevin Toman (Susan Krantz) of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Kim (Paul) Mohlmann of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, Keith (Lisa) Toman of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Kelly (Wayne) Larson, Platteville, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Mandy (Craig) Meyer, Michele Minder, Hannah Taylor, Kirsti (Geoff) Williams, Heath Atz, Graham Atz, Hallie Atz, Timothy Hausch, Lindsey Toman, TJ Mohlmann, Taryn Klein, Dustin Klein, Brandon Toman, Michael Toman, Amber Husom, Austin Larson, Jordan Larson, Wayne Larson Jr.; also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren.
