Beatrice M. "Tuttie" Gale

Beatrice M. "Tuttie" Gale, 79 of Freeport, passed away, Sunday January 24, 2021 at F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. Tuttie was born March 24, 1941 in Freeport, the daughter of John and Geraldine (Thompson) Schlamp. She married William J. Gale June 25, 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa. Mr. Gale passed away April 10, 2001. Tuttie worked as a C.N.A. for many years. She attended Park Hills Evangelical Church. Tuttie was an accomplished bowler. She enjoyed listening to country music and following the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. She was a former member of the Freeport Eagles Auxiliary. Surviving is her son, William (Wendy) Gale of Freeport; daughter Tammy (Homer) Cook; sister, Judith Heilman of Cumming GA.; 11 grandchildren, Stacy Reed-Valdez, Rodney Gale, Suzanne Reed, Ronald Gross Jr., Larry Gross, Laura Gross, Randy Kosier Jr, Christopher (Heidi) Stukenberg, Daniel (Nicole) Stukenberg, Matthew Stukenberg, and Amy (Luke) Heath. Also surviving are numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Tuttie was preceded in death by her husband, three daughters, Debra Gross, Diane Munter, and Theresa Gale; and brother, Larry Schlamp. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 30, 2021 at Park Hills Evangelical Church. Pastor Chris Stukenberg will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in her memory.
