Barbara Ilene Lower

Barbara Ilene Lower 73, of Pearl City, passed away surrounded by her family, on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Javon Bea Hospital, Rockford. Barb was born on January 5, 1949, in Freeport, the daughter of Willard and Leona (Stichter) Dyson. She married Mike Lower on July 11, 1969, in Freeport. Barb's favorite part of life was being a beloved wife, mom, Nana and Grammy. Barb worked at Pearl City Boco for many years. She enjoyed going to work, where you would always find her smiling and cracking jokes with all of her customers. Barb loved visiting and catching up with all of her friends over a meal. Above all else, Barb loved spending time with all her family, and attending every single one of her grandchildren's events. Surviving is her husband, Mike Lower of Pearl City; son, Todd (Tonya) Lower of Pearl City; daughter, Cricket (Chad) Stephan of Pearl City; two brothers, Norman Dyson and Rodney (Jackie) Dyson both of Freeport; two sisters, Nina Garnhart of California, and Theressa Eastman of Freeport; three grandchildren, Brooke Stephan, Sydni, and Dylan Lower. Also surviving is mother-in-law, Janet Lower of Pearl City. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Roy and David Dyson; sister, Marie Steele; father-in-law, Buck Lower; and mother-in-law, Marie Jackson. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday October 5, 2022, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Visitation Tuesday October 4, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. also at Burke Tubbs. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
