Barbara Ann Toepfer

Barbara Ann Toepfer, 68, of Freeport died Saturday in her home. Barbara was born on July 18, 1946 in Freeport, the daughter of Earl and Florence (Pulver) Blair. She worked for Newell Company for 21 years, Elks Lodge #617, Manny's Catering and Willowglen Academy. In 1999, Barbara received her B.S. Degree from Columbia College. Surviving are two sons, Christopher (Stacey) Toepfer of Loves Park and Joseph Toepfer of Freeport; daughter Bethany (Darrell) Fetzer of Chandler, AZ. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Joshua Downing, Blair Rhode, Tara and Devin Folgate, Alex Toepfer, Eric and Kaitlyn Toepfer, and Jessie Toepfer. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Eric Toepfer in 1984 and sister-in-law, Joanne Blair. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday July 6, 2015 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Deacon Richard Dinneen will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at Burke Tubbs. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Barbara's memory.
