Anthony 'Tony' C. Cannova, 64 of Freeport, died July 4, 2012 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born March 16, 1948 in Freeport, son of Vincent and Marie (Puccio) Cannova. He was employed by Honeywell and retired in 2006. Tony was the drummer for various local bands, most notably The Nomadds. He enjoyed golfing and streetrodding with friends. He is survived by his wife, Tina of Freeport; Daughters: Maria (Carlos) Delucca of Marietta, GA and Christina (Geoff) Cannova Maring of Carbondale; Brother: Joseph (Sandra) Cannova of Freeport; Step-children: Andrea (Attila) Balogh of Davie, FL, Joshua (Joann) Teuber of Wilmette, and Erin (Ryan) Mousel of Telluride, CO; Eleven Grandchildren: Antonio and Isabella Delucca; Sophia, Gia, Nadia, and Lorenzo Maring; Julian Balogh; Nathan, Jane, Charles and Peter Teuber; Nephews: Vincent Cannova and Shell (Shawn) Cannova; and two dogs: Spike and Max. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends are invited to join the family in fellowship on Saturday July 7, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at The Masonic Temple, 305 W. Stephenson Street, Freeport, IL.
