Annie Mae Ishmon, 82, of Freeport, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 in her home after an extended illness with her family by her bedside. She was born on March 25, 1928 in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was the daughter of James and Annie (Tripplett) Allen. She married James Ishmon Sr on January 16, 1956 in Forrest City, Arkansas. To their union they raised 13 children. She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Abundant Life Church until her illness. She also was a member at Saint Martin Church where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, cleaning, and singing her favorite gospel songs. She leaves to cherish her memories; her husband James Ishmon Sr, seven sons; Will Phillips Jr, Johnny (Diane) Morris Jr, James (Monika) Ishmon Jr, Curtis (Gwen) Ishmon, David Ishmon, Carl ishmon, Wayne Ishmon, three daughters; Annie L Green, Virginia Allen, Nina (Willie) Ishmon, sister, Francis Mayweather, also surviving are 31 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, one sister, two daughters; Betty j. Ishmon and Gunetta T. Ishmon, one son, Christopher N Ishmon, two granddaughters, two grandsons and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Saturday 1:00 P.M. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport with the Rev. Ricky Stidmon officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Church. Burial will be a City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her memory.
