Anna L. Nelson

Anna L. Nelson, 95, of Freeport, died Friday December 28, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 21, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of William and Carmela (Carbone) Ghuiro. Anna married Francis Nelson March 17, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY; he died August 29, 1975. Anna worked at Newell Co. for 23 years and then at Malcolm Eaton for nine years before retiring in 1998. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and Newell Retirement Club. Anna is survived by her son, Kenneth (Kay) Nelson of Bella Vista, AR; two daughters, Diana (Dan) Rudisill of Belvidere, IL and Francine (Keith) Woods of Pleasant Shade, TN; two son-in-laws, Jim Wolniakowski of Winter Garden, FL and John Reilly of Dixon, IL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Kathy and Glenda; her brother, Patrick; and two sisters, Bridgette and Theresa. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday December 31, 2018 with Rev. Bill Blomberg officiating. Visitation will be from 1-4:00 P.M. Sunday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
