Anita K. Gugger

Anita K. Gugger, 72, of Freeport, died Wednesday January 18, 2017 in her home. She was born September 30, 1944 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Melvin and Doris Jean (Manning) Stukenberg. She married Douglas Gugger August 29, 1964; he died April 19, 2010. Anita was a 1962 graduate of Freeport High School. She worked as a hairdresser. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Anita is survived by her sons Eric (Carolyn) Gugger of Plymouth, MN and Chad (Chris) Gugger of Phoenix, AZ; her brother Edward Stukenberg of Freeport, IL; her sister Annette Mihalovich of Bondurant, IA; and her grandchildren Morgan, Isabel, Connor, Olivia, Benjamin, and Samantha. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday January 28, 2017 at Faith United Methodist Church with Pastor John Wesley Lee officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday January 27, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Entombment of cremains will be at Oakland Mausoleum.
