Angelo Velcich 76, of Elizabeth, formally of Chicago, died Thursday August 31, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Angelo was born October 2, 1938 in Cherso, Italy, the son of Gergio and Maria Velcich. He married Nancy Schauer April 4, 1964 in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Angelo was a Tool and Die Maker for Farley industries for 36 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elizabeth. Angelo enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing, and hunting. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Velcich of Elizabeth; two sons, Tony (Mary) Velcich of Orangeville and Richard (Helene) Velcich of Tinley Park; brother, Luigi (Korina) Velcich of Glenview; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Jessica, Lauren, Michelle, and Sarah. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Kalee Velcich and Jacob Velcich. Angelo was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 5, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, (112 East Washington Street, Elizabeth, IL.). Rev. Dennis Morrissy will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday September 4, 2017 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, (504 North Walnut, Freeport, IL. 61032).
