Andrew Mantua

Andrew Mantua, 92, of Freeport, died Wednesday June 12, 2013 in his home. Andrew was born September 20, 1920 in Castro Dei Volsci, Italy, the son of Angelo and Chiara Mantua. Mr. Mantua was employed at Honeywell-Micro Switch. He retired in 1985. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Surviving are wife, Cordie Mantua of Freeport, daughter, Elizabeth (Keith) Talbot of Whitefish Bay, WI.; son, Mark (Leslie) Mantua of Freeport; three grandchildren, Tony Mantua and Grace and Claire Talbot; brothers, Giustino (Francesca)Mantua of Freeport, Antonio Mantua of Italy, and Virginio Mantua of Argentina; sister, Pasqualina of Italy. Also surviving is a nephew Gino (Lori) Mantua of Freeport and many other nieces and nephews of Italy. Mr. Mantua was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Giovannina; brothers, Domenico, Filippo, Giuseppe, and Rocco; along with a nephew Romano Mantua. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 18 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with Msgr. P. William McDonnell officiating. Visitation will be Monday 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary service starting at 4:00 p.m. in Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. There will also be a Visitation 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Tuesday.
