Allan P. Ackerman

Allan P. Ackerman, 79, of Freeport died Friday January 10, 2020 at FHN memorial Hospital. He was born February 25, 1940 in Leaf River, IL the son of Bernard and Pearl (Voss) Ackerman. On April 6, 1966 he married Phyllis Klenz in German Vallley, IL. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Allan was employed at Micro-Switch Honeywell for 43 years. He was a member of Zion Church. He also was a member of the Micro-Switch 20 Century Club. Surviving is his wife, Phyllis of Freeport; son, Dwyane (Tina) Ackerman of Murrieta, CA; daughter, Mary Ackerman of Freeport; sister, Bernice Kampen of Freeport; and one grandchild Brianna Ackerman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marion Ackerman. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday January 25, 2020 at Zion Church. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Friday January 24, 2020 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established for Zion Church.
