Alice Sue Kloepping, 78, of Freeport, passed away, Monday April 29, 2024 at Manor Court, with those that loved her most, next to her. Alice was born January 14, 1946, in Freeport, the daughter of Albert and Rosella (Haas) Schmidt. Alice married Dennis Kloepping April 10, 1969 in Freeport. She worked at Lincoln Douglas for 30 years. Alice was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She was the manager of the Freeport Little League concession stand for many years. Mrs. Kloepping enjoyed shopping, going to her card club, and attending all of her grandchildren sporting events.
Surviving is her husband, Dennis Kloepping of Freeport; daughters, Kathy (Doug) Wollny, Kelly (Mike) Brubaker, Kerry Kloepping, and Becky Hiester all of Freeport; two sisters, Joan (Gary) Jacobs and Rose Marie Mordick; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Paige Wollny, Aysia McClain, Kennedy and Morgan Kloepping, Jackson Brubaker, and Kyle and Alyssa Hiester; also surviving is special friend, Amanda Wenger.
Mrs. Kloepping was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Albert Schmidt; three sisters, Mary Lou Van Raalte, Alberta Murray, and Connie Brickner.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday May 6, 2024 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Eddie Eddy will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Freeport School District in Alice’s memory.
