Alan Wayne Lenoir peacefully made his transition on Sunday morning, June 25, 2023. The son of Albert and Patricia (St. James) Lenoir, he was born on March 4, 1961, in Freeport, Illinois. Alan attended St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church during his youth and graduated from Freeport Senior High School. He fathered two children, twins, April and Alan “Aldo” Lenoir both of Freeport, Illinois.
Alan enjoyed the simple things like laughing at Gumby and watching Judge Judy. He also loved riding motorcycles. He was the rare individual who would volunteer to help people move! Alan was always willing to help with whatever was requested of him. He was funny and kind in his own way. To truly love him was to truly understand him. He loved his mom’s homemade ice cream and could always count on a plate from Greta Harrell, Jean Lenoir, Flora Newton and Lottie Harrell.
Alan is no longer with us but he left us memories that will last forever.
He leaves cherished memories to his mother, Patricia Lenoir, daughter April Lenoir, son Alan (Reed) Lenoir, sisters Valerie (Earl) Skrine of Las Vegas, Nevada and Lorri (Kenneth) Ketton of Rockford, Illinois. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and too many friends to name.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Lenoir and cousin Ralph Lenoir Jr.
Alan and Ralph were like brothers so much that one of Alan’s last wishes was to be buried next to Ralph so they could always be close.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday June 27, 2023 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Alan’s memory.
