Adamae G. Robb, 102, of Freeport, IL, died on October 5, 2014 at Liberty Village after a long fulfilling and happy life. She was born on July 14, 1912 in Blanchardville, WI, the daughter of Walter E. Gould and Anna Wallom Gould. Adamae married her high school sweetheart, Norman Wahl Robb on June 10, 1935. Norman and Adamae were high school prom king and queen. She graduated from Blanchardville High School and Green County teachers Normal School. For four years she taught eight grades in a one room country school in LaFayette County near Blanchardville. She lived in Rock Island, IL for 26 years and Freeport since 1976. Adamae was a member of First Lutheran Church of Freeport and she was active in her circles. She and her dear friends, Neva Junior and Marge Boyer spent many hours in the church kitchen. She was also a member of eastern Star and of Chapter LI PEO. Her very special interests were the love and joy of her family; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered not only for her devotion to her family but for her warm smile, sense of humor, and thoughtfulness of others. She always had a full cookie jar and was known as the "cookie grandma". She was also known for her homemade noodles, Norwegian Lefsa and Pastries, and for teaching card games to all the grandchildren. Adamae is survived by her daughter, Janet (Dr. Gerry) Haines; two sons, Rev. Joseph (Deborah) Robb of Moline, IL and R. James (Linda) Robb of East Moline,IL. Six Grandchildren; Jeffrey (Nina) Robb, Jill Williams, Dr. Beth (Harold) Lanni, Sherri (Nick) Valavanis, Jennifer (Ho) Lee, and Eric (Mercy) Robb; nine great-grandchildren: Brett, Kevin, and David Robb, Madison and Nicholas Williams, Isabelle and Zachary Valavanis, and Megan and Carson Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her dear husband, Norman, who passed away on April 4, 2001; three sisters, Dora Risser, Esther Johnson, Annabelle Lyngaas, and a brother Robert Gould. Also a great-grandchild, Morgan Elizabeth Williams. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 21, 2014 at First Lutheran Church in Freeport, IL, with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund has been established in her memory.
