John Burke has been at the helm of the family business since 1974. A graduate of the University of Minnesota’s Program of Mortuary Science, his in-depth training in funeral planning and procedure is enhanced by over 25 years of on-the-job experience and compassion. John and his wife, Mary Jane, are the proud parents of a son and daughter

Robert Burke partnered with his brother John in 1979 after completing rigorous training at the Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL. His professional experience spans 20 years and counting. Bob, his wife Dena, and their daughter enjoy small-town life in the Freeport community.

Andrew Kuhse the son of Ann (Burke) Kuhse, is a 1999 graduate of Aquin Central Catholic High School. The proud parent of his daughter Kyrsten. Andy has been working at Burke-Tubbs since 2005 and currently is working towards completing his Mortuary Science Education.

Michael Burke the son of Tom and Patty Burke, graduated from the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program in 2004. Mike started working at Burke-Tubbs while he attended Freeport High School. He is now a full time employee at Burke-Tubbs and looks forward to his future serving the community of Freeport and the surrounding area

Brian Burke the son of Tom and Patty Burke, is a 2001 graduate of Freeport High School and is in the final year of the Mortuary Science program at Southern Illinois University. After the completion of his education, Brian will return home to work full time for Burke-Tubbs.

The Burkes are lifelong residents of Freeport and longstanding members of the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association and the Freeport Chamber of Commerce. Beyond daily business, community involvement is a priority as evidenced in their active roles in local Kiwanis and Rotary clubs. The family is especially proud that Burke Baseball Field in Freeport’s Read Park was named in their honor.
